There and back
Christopher Porter is an artist without borders, whose photography encapsulates the seen and unseen in his travels across the world. He seems to locate what others misplace, often questioning the impact and consequence of human existence. Both personal and collective.
Now living in Canada his work is held in private collections in the UK, US, France, Canada, and Germany.

"All my prints are limited edition.
I always shoot with a short lens.
In existing light.
This requires a physical relationship with my subjects. A tacit agreement. We see each other.
I compose in the moment. If I fail, I fail.
I was trained to print images with the neg showing. Proof that I had technically and aesthetically held the moment. I still shoot with this guiding principle.
The images are as I saw them."
