I made the trip three times from LA to NS. Always taking a different route. Always alone. I was shooting handheld with my Tomiyama large-format camera. A cumbersome instrument that held only 3 frames of 6x17, which could also be divided into 2x2., The camera had to be focused and exposures set before the film was loaded, after which you could no longer see through the lens. I intentionally chose expired film stock to affect the colour. I wanted it to feel vintage and timeless like the landscape and the people along the way.
